The Applause Of Heaven

This message was re-brought to my attention by a couple
of subscribers who received this by email this week, &
re-experiencing how powerful this is myself, I decided to
re-post it here…Enjoy!

****

Let’s do a quick experiment.

In a moment, I’m going to send you to watch a quick 3 minute video.

As you watch, though, and you see everyone clapping and cheering,
I want you to imagine for a moment that they’re all cheering for you.

A few years ago I read excerpts from a book by Max Lucado with
a wonderful title:

The Applause of Heaven

Today as I watched the video of Paul Potts singing below, I imagined the
feeling of people clapping and cheering for me, and I realized
how deeply the desire to be loved, accepted, and approved runs
in all of us.

For a moment I want you to experience the feeling of being
cheered, of being loved.

Whatever your circumstances, whatever your failures, whatever
you feel you’re lacking or wish were different, take a moment
now, watch the video, and enjoy the feeling of being cheered,
loved, and celebrated just for being you.

Then leave a comment about what you experience below.

To a blessed and wonderful week!

The Parable of the Trapeze

Heard this interesting “parable” from a business leader named
Dan Conlon at a talk in the Chicago suburbs this weekend, and
felt it had such a broad and powerful application to any key
transition in life that I wanted to share it with you here.

Dan called it, the “Parable of the Trapeze”

Imagine swinging on a trapeze…and as you reach the end of
your swing, another trapeze bar is swinging towards you.

You know that bar is for you.

Now you’ve got to let go of the bar you have in order to grasp
that next bar…

similarly in our life, relationships, health, or business, when
called to a new level, we have to let go of what’s comfortable
and familiar, and we’ve got to grab hold of the next “bar” so
we can travel the distance we’re meant to go.

If you let go consciously it looks really cool; if you let go
hesitantly – it looks really bad.

In between is where you’re the most alive — where you’ve
let go of one bar and not yet grabbed the next one — there’s
something new, and there’s risk.

Now here’s a key:

If you focus on the doubt, gravity begins to take over.

On the other hand, if you let go of the bar consciously and
grab the next one, you can build momentum in your life.

So next time you’re faced with something new, remember the
“Parable of the Trapeze.”

P.S.  Just heard from Dan that the Parable of the Trapeze originally comes from Danaan Parry – “Hurtling through the void, we just may learn how to fly.”

Simple Way to Dissolve “Overwhelm”

Had a coaching call with a woman on my business team recently
who was feeling overwhelmed with all the things she wanted to
address in her life–her health & fitness, her business, her
personal growth & spirituality, and ongoing demands at work.

She wanted to give everything “100%” and felt like there wasn’t
enough of her to go around.

Here’s a couple thoughts that helped her, and have also been
key for me and for others I’ve coached, and I thought I’d
share them with you here (as my daughter’s playing by my chair
and 2 of my boys are attacking each other 🙂 ).

The first is, lay “tracks” for your brain & body to run on.

If you have several areas in your life or business you’re
wanting to address, rather than trying to completely “overhaul”
them all at the same time, start by creating a “space” or
“category”, or “track” for your brain & body to run on.

What does that mean?

Let’s say you realize you want to have some time for personal
reflection or prayer or meditation each day.

And let’s say your goal is 20-30 minutes, but right now with
all the demands on you, that seems out of reach.

How about starting with 3-5 minutes?

Think that’s too little to “do anything”?

Here’s the key:

Even a little bit in each area you’re wanting to address begins
to create a space, or lay a track & open a channel, for that
area to grow in your life.

Taking that 3-5 minutes begins to tell your brain, “We’re doing
this now.”  And “we’re now creating a space in our life for this
to be significant.”

The neat thing is as you do this consistently, a new track, or
pattern, gets laid in your brain and in your body that makes it
easier and easier to do the next time.

Plus, there’s two more key things to realize about this process…
whether you’re starting with a few minutes of personal time like
above, writing one line in a journal, or taking a few minutes to
stand up and move or go for a quick walk:

The effect of any little bit you do can be magnified & multiplied…
in other words, 100 x 0 is still 0…but as long as there’s more
than zero, it can be multiplied…

Second, what you do in those few minutes can become a catalyst
that continues beyond the actual time you spent on the activity,
and has an impact on you the rest of your day, because the track
has been laid.

And if you choose to, at some point you can expand the time you
give to that activity, but realize there’s already value even in
the few minutes you’ve started with, because you’re laying a new
track that continues to have an effect even when you’re doing
other things.

So how about it?

How about picking an area you want to lay a new track for—-
whether it’s eating a piece of fruit or vegetable for a snack,
taking 10 minutes to walk, bike, or move today, or a few minutes
to journal at the end of your day—-and celebrating the new channel
you’re opening up for good to come to you.

Enjoy!  And let me know your own experiences in the comments below…

Helps you manifest with ease…

Today is the day you can get your Mind Movies
Creation Kit right here at 10 a.m. Pacific:

Mind Movies Creation Kit

This is the one “tool” that’s
had the single biggest impact on me since I started using it
last fall, and there’s a number of bonuses as well as a f.ree
upgrade to version 2.0 for the first people that get the kit
today.

Also, it looks like they’re re-releasing it in digital format,
which is a much better price than I paid for it last fall! 🙂

Connecting the Dots…Steve Jobs’ Stanford Commencement Address

Heard this thought-provoking address a couple years ago, and now just “re-discovered” it on YouTube, so am posting it here.  “You can’t connect the dots looking forward.  You can only connect them looking backwards.  So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.  You have to trust in something…”  Enjoy!

Creating different results, & the “Law of the Lid”

Wrote these thoughts a while ago and just received a comment
from one of my ezine readers today that reminded me this
message “hits home” for anyone who wants things to change.
Enjoy!

****

This weekend I picked up a great book by John Maxwell called
The 21 Most Powerful Minutes in a Leaders’ Day.  I love the
way the book is layed out—it’s easy to read and pick out key
points.  One of the big ones right off the bat is the Law of
the Lid.

What lids do you have in your life?  Many of us want
something different in our life and wish our circumstances
would change, and we’re tempted to be angry or resentful or
to feel sorry for ourselves.  But what if truly having your
circumstances change—whether it’s your finances, your health,
or your relationships—requires YOU to change?  Hmmm…
intriguing thought and not one most people are comfortable
with…

I listened to an interview of John Assaraf last night, a
wealthy and successful businessman who specializes in the
neuroscience and physics of how we and the universe operate
and interact.  He pointed out that one of the two greatest
human needs is our need for our mental image to be “right”.

Often what holds us back from creating different results in
our health, our finances, our life is our mental image of
ourselves–our perception, and our beliefs—our lids—and it’s
not until the pain gets great enough, or the desire for
something better becomes strong enough, that we’re willing
to acknowledge and release our limiting beliefs.

What beliefs are governing the way you operate and the
experiences you’re having in life?  Are you ready to accept
that perhaps some of these could change—some of these are
self-imposed lids that can be removed—and to allow yourself
and your self-perception to grow beyond them, or to ask for
the grace to let the lid be lifted?

Some profound questions to ponder…

To a wonderful week!

Feeling Good–Now or Later?

I have lived much of my life rather compulsively—feeling that
if I just got such and such done, then I could relax and feel
good.

How about you?  Are you waiting until your house is clean,
your taxes are done, your weight is just right, or you’ve
finally made it financially—are you waiting until then to
feel good?

Most of us tend to do this by default—it’s how we’ve been
conditioned.

But what I’ve discovered is that choosing to feel good now
not only is more enjoyable, but also opens the door for all
these other things, at least the ones that are truly important,
to get done in their own good time as well.

How can you feel good before everything’s the way you want it?
Ah…that’s an art and a discipline we all are learning.

First of all, recognize that it’s a choice—what you choose to
say to yourself, how you choose to view a situation, what
attitude you choose to have, and what influences you surround
yourself with.  A great first step is simply choosing to be
grateful—give thanks for everything good in your life right
now, and even step out and give thanks for the good that’s
coming as if it’s already yours.

To a blessed and wonderful week!

An emotional key to manifesting any change you desire.

In working with my business team, I’ve noticed a pattern that
tends to get “overlooked” in practice, but is extremely key
to the success or failure of “manifesting” a desired change
in any aspect of your life.

Whether it’s a result in your business, a change in your health,
or some other area of your life where you’re wanting to create
something that’s not yet in your physical experience…

I’ve noticed a consistent pattern that’s key to actually seeing
fulfillment of what you’re wanting to manifest—-and there’s lot’s
of historical precedent for this pattern as well. 🙂

The key seems to be that there’s a “necessary” amount of time,
which may vary for the person or situation, that’s required to
keep our attention on the change or result we’re wanting to see
(rather than the lack of it), and it’s this attention, and the
emotional consistency that follows from it, that’s the key
difference between someone who “tries” for awhile and then
gives up, vs. the person who actually sees and experiences the
fulfillment of their “dream”.

Here’s two examples that will better clarify what I mean—-one from
an “ancient” text, and the other a simple analogy.

The “ancient” text is the biblical story of the Children of Israel
wandering in the desert for 40 years when they could have entered
the promised land almost right away.

What led to the delay?

Well, one key factor seems to be the recurrent tendency to “give up”
emotionally
on the promise they’d been given…and to “murmur and complain”.

Keep that in mind as we consider the following analogy.

Imagine that the result you’re wanting to manifest—-whether it’s
in your health, your finances or business, or some other area of
your life—-is like a crop, say of corn.

And let’s say your crop has a set time—-say 90 days—-to grow fully
and bear fruit.

Well, what if every 45 days, or every 85 days, you “throw in the towel” emotionally,
and walk away from your “crop” because nothing seems to be “happening” yet–at
least not what you want?

Can you see how you could painfully prolong receiving the very fruit
you’ve been sowing toward, much like the Children of Israel delayed
their entrance into the promised land?

So how about making a deal with yourself.

How about taking a moment to reflect on something that you’re really
looking forward to experiencing—-maybe it’s more energy, a better physique
for the summer, growth in your business, or an increasing amount of surplus
at the end of each month—-and taking off the internal “time limit” when you
tend to judge whether something’s “working” or not…and instead, hold to
the promise…the “dream” that draws you…and keep your attention and
your emotions steadily in line with that dream regardless of how things
“look” at the moment…

You may soon look around and find the very thing you’re wanting to experience
is “suddenly” here.

Dr. Ben

P.S.  I’d love to hear your own stories of holding fast to a vision or dream
despite how things looked at the moment, and you can share them in the
comments below.

Two ways to learn the Science of Getting Rich

Here’s a quick heads up on two ways to get this powerful
resource…and one of them is free

Many of you know of “The Secret” DVD that became popular
in the last couple of years and showed many how powerfully
our own thoughts and feelings affect our life experience.

Well, last night Bob Proctor, one of the speakers on “The
Secret”, released a digital download version of his in depth
Science of Getting Rich course.

This is a very comprehensive and powerful course, and the
digital version makes it accessible to virtually everyone.

You can access it directly here:

Bob Proctor’s Science Of Getting Rich Course

If for some reason you’re not ready to invest in the full
course, which “unpackages” years of experience and application
of Wallace Wattles’ original work, you can still at least
get Mr. Wattles’ book as a free download through Rebecca
Fine’s site
.

Give yourself one of these gifts…and consider sharing with
a friend as well.

Enjoy!

For your weekend listening…

Just learned about this interview between Bob Proctor & John
Assaraf (2 of the spkrs on The Secret DVD), where John talks
about the personal strategies behind his success, and the key
role Bob played.

I’ve had the privilege of meeting John Assaraf a few years
ago, and am looking forward to listening to this interview
myself this weekend!

You can access it here.

Enjoy!
