Day #1 Why Most Programs Fail

Welcome to Day #1!

Over the next 7 days, we’re going to cover key components to
transforming the way you feel in just minutes a day.

And since you’re a multi-dimensional being (you have thoughts
and feelings that affect how you feel just as much as anything
you put into your mouth), we’re going to address all dimensions
in this series with the insights that follow.

So let’s get started with today’s lesson,

**Why Most Programs Fail**

Ever tried a “program” to change your health or something in
your life only to be disappointed it “didn’t work”?

Before we talk about some of the specific physical steps you can
take to change your health and how you feel, today I want to share
with you the top two reasons why most programs “fail”, and at
the same time equip you with a strategy so that you never “fail”
again.

Here’s the first reason:

**The Law of Incremental Change and Compounding Results**

Think for a moment of growing a tomato plant (a wonderful
analogy in Louise Hay’s You Can Heal Your Life).

When the first green shoots spring up from the dirt, you don’t
stomp on them and say, “But I wanted a tomato!”

But isn’t that what you’ve done when attempting to “grow” other
results in your life?

Whether it’s changing your physique, releasing some weight,
eating healthier, or even a change in an arena other than health–
how you relate to your spouse or kids, or the results you’re
wanting to see in your business–how many times have you been
frustrated with yourself or your apparent “lack” of results?

Maybe you “messed up” this weekend and repeated an old habit,
or maybe you’ve been “trying really hard” but still not seeing
the results you want…

Or maybe you’re overwhelmed by a diagnosis or set of
circumstances and don’t know where to begin…

Well, no matter where you are right now, here’s where you start:

One step at a time.

Now this may seem obvious, but stick with me for a moment.

You can’t be anywhere other than where you are right now–
because that’s where you are.

So start here.

Start taking steps in the direction you want to head.

And start to accept and understand The Law of Incremental
Change and Compounding Results.

You’ve heard of the “penny doubling every day” becoming over
10 million by the end of 30 days.

Well, in the first few weeks, the visible changes are
INCREMENTAL…but the continuation of these incremental
changes begins to compound, and that’s when the magic
happens.

It’s the same with your health, your relationships, or any
other area of your life.

You may be ready for a quantum shift…and we’ve probably
all heard of personal transformation that happens virtually
“overnight.”

But what happens for most people is the willingness to
cooperate with taking these incremental steps consistently,
and then allowing the magic of compounding to happen.

And compounding doesn’t just happen with money…

It happens in your body, and in any area of your life where
you allow new steps to begin to add together and create a

**new pattern**

with

**new results.**

And the compounding can happen rapidly…just like with the
penny…

and create almost “overnight” transformation.

But when you’re “in the middle of it,” if you don’t understand
this principle, you can “stomp” on your tomato shoots…

…stop the steps you’re taking…

before the compounding starts to take off…

and that’s what most people do.

That’s why most programs “fail”…

It’s not really that the program doesn’t work, or even that it
takes too long to see results.

Rather, it’s just that most people don’t understand the Law of
Incremental Change and Compounding Results, and they “pull out”
before the magic starts to happen.

Take a few minutes to ponder this throughout today, and  leave your comments and questions on today’s lesson below.

I look forward to hearing  from you!

  1. Understand the Law of Incremental Change and Compounding Results…..in ANY AREA of your life.

    WOW, Ben………

It’s taken quite a bit of time to let this sink in as it pertains to me and I realize that BEFORE I loose the weight I need to concentrate on improving my health……..and before (or while) the health improves I need to rid myself of possessions that I no longer need or want……that have been strangling me. Excess “stuff” has been weighing heavily on my mind and I need to LET GO of a large portion by distributing to my kids what they want or by selling. My compounding result will be MORE SPACE to function in with MUCH LESS distractions.

I’ve always been a collector and about 2 months ago I hired my almost 19 year old g’daughter to begin taking an inventory of a couple of my collections. Tuesday my daughter is going with me to an 8x8x8 storage room I rent and have stacked with “collectibles”. Haven’t been there in years and I consider just going there a hugh “incremental change”. What family doesn’t want (I’m generous…grin) will go to auction and my mind will have a little less tugging at it. Yesterday g’daug Jessica (she drives now) and I packed up 4 boxes of Christmas statuary, told my kids by phone what we did and gave them a time frame to pick them up if they were interested. 4 boxes, GONE, by days end! Another empty closet floor!

Who would have thought your “Day 1” segment would tie in and help me clarify what was niggling me from the far back corners of my mind.

Talk about “The Law of Attraction”…….uncanny!

    Thanks Ben……you’re very inspiring.

  2. You’re welcome, Joan!

It’s wonderful to see what the information has triggered in you, and how quickly you’re acting on it to create significant change in your life.

    Thanks so much for sharing!

  3. I know that I am writing this a day late but what the heck. I love this Law. Patience and belief. This is what comes to me as the necessary components here. I am trying to grow those elements. i am fairly new in my business for instance and I am learning how important it is to stick with it and again notice the seemingly small steps and allowing myself to notice and celebrate those. This all goes against what I was taught by my family. I always knew that there was another version of living and what a journey this series is already for me.

i want to apply this to my health so that i can grow a stronger and more vital body. I am committed to this as I realize that without this vehicle called body, I will not be able to do the work that i came here to do. So I am committing to noticing the small things and thoughts that I have that are positive concerning my view of my body and its strength.

    thank you,
    v

  4. Thank You Ben,
I’m not sure if i totally understand The Law of Incremetal Change and Compounding Results, but what it brought to mind is changing my steps to bring a new pattern with new results.
First step, is to truly find my purpose and go after it with passion.

  5. Yes, you some it up nicely, Dyana, with “changing my steps to bring a new pattern with new results”, and so does Vida with “I am learning how important it is to stick with it and again notice the seemingly small steps and allowing myself to notice and celebrate those.”

    Just remember the tomato plant…

  6. Every action must have a starting point. Truly the most difficult thing is to get started. Like rolling a snowball downhill. It takes a moment to get it going but once you get it started it gains size and momentum. Everything in nature is like that. If we only put forth a little effort often the return is huge and we often don’t appreciate it. If we plant one kernel of corn how many ears of corn and new seeds does it produce? Often you just need to begin thoughtfully and allow nature to take its course.

  7. i see what ive needed to see, but was blind. i am making progress at a snails pace, but i am at last doing it. i have needed to do this for a long time, but when you are constantly told what to do by someone that doesn’t do it, you tend to rebel, which i have done for a long time. jan

  8. Sounds like you’re now choosing to create new patterns for yourself, Jan–congratulations!

    Dr. Ben

  9. The comment about ‘clutter” was uncanny…..I’m scheduled for the consignment shop in 2 days to get rid of unnecessary clothing, and I recently cleaned out my garage. I guess the universe is really supporting creating space to bring in new energy! It’s no accident I read this now!

  10. BEN I WANT YOU KNOW THAT I SEE THIS OPPERTUNITY AS A BLESSING FROM GOD. I HAVE BEEN ON A DOWNWARD SPIRAL FOR A WHILE, AND REPLYING TO THAT E-MAIL AND TAKING THOSE STEPS HAS ALREADY LET ME KNOW “I AM BACK”. THAT FEELS GREAT. AFTER READING THIS LESSON, I KNOW DEEP DOWN IN SO MANY WAYS, I HAVE SABATASHED MYSELF SO MUCH. I THANK YOU FOR THESE TIPS. I UNDERSTAND I HAVE TO QUIT STEPPING ON MY TOMATO PLANTS! I AM SO EXCITED TO BE ON THIS JOURNEY. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  11. Wonderful, Angie–you have your whole life ahead of you, and yes–celebrate each step and let those “tomato plants” bloom and bear fruit!

  12. Doc Lo

Top of the day — it is always interesting to see who will be drawn into the Eagle’s Nest — today it was my honor and delight to meet you Dr. LO — I’m always willing to learn from a master and I look forward to the journey — the moon is building to full — the energies of Grand Mere are very high if you would like to join me —

    Chuck Harrison

  13. It was a treat to meet you as well, Chuck, and I look forward to visiting Grand Mere!

  14. I have tried a bit of gardening in my small garden for last few years. And this year I decided to try also the tomatos 🙂
I have the plants growing, no tomatos yet. But I’ll wait. And I won’t step on them 🙂

  15. I think if we always remember the tomatoes, we will be surprised at the end results. For me, this means to never give up, to clear out all clutter and continue on with the goals that are set for my life. Tomatoes do not start out as tomatoes. You have to allow them to grow and then bloom and then the tomato starts growing but is green at first until it finally the red fruit we enjoy. So is our life. We do not get the end result right away.

  16. I met you at conference, but for some reason, put off looking at your site. I began yesterday, and have to admit I feel very excited about starting this journey with you. I have much to work through.

  17. Dr. Lo,

Today with your help I am creating a new and better Me! I am thankful that this website found it’s way to Me.

I will never, ever, ever, ever, give up on Me!

Thank you in advance for teaching Me to be a better Me physically, mentally and spiritually!

    Gratefully,

  18. I am looking forward to the next seven days…Positive thinking, positive results

  19. I look forward to finding my way,out of my “clutter” through the positive teachings.

  20. How odd…you called me out of the blue, while I was sitting in the garage telling myself that I really should have started earlier if I wanted to sell anything at my garage sale. I had almost talked myself into going in and waiting another week, when the phone call came in. I decided to go ahead and just make sure I didn’t step on any lil plants. Because any progress is better than no progress at all.

    Thanks!
    Tammy

  21. Dr. Ben thank you so much for your guidance to helping me see the weaknesses and strengths in ones mind and body. I am willing to learn and grow and to new heights in my business.
    Thanks again
    Karen

  22. You’re welcome, Karen & Tammy!

Look forward to hearing about your ongoing progress and successes!

  23. Dear Dr. Ben,

A couple of days before I asked for your help I wrote down, “I feel like a tomato plant seed that is being watered and fertilized and will soon sprout and grow.” Then your Day 1 came. I surely hope nobody steps on me.

I am sooooo grateful for YOU! The Law of
Incremental Change and Compounding Results; you tuned right in to ME and what I needed.

    Thanks,
    Linda

  24. I met you at conference and I admired and observed how grounded and mellow you appeared at all times–and yet so alert and aware of all that was happening around you. In this crazy world that we live in that is not an easy feat.

Knowing you had this website and knowing that you are committed to alternative medicine and believing you deal with life the way I would like to deal with life, I jumped at this opportunity to grow in all aspects of life.

    Thank you for this opportunity.

  25. Thank you very much for offering expertise to me. I look forward to whatever help you have to offer. Speak to you soon.
    Elouise

  26. Hi Dr. Ben,
I wanted to meet you ever since I first heard you on a training call. Your compassionate nature is a blessing in this world of negativity. I strive to incorportate your virtues of patience, respect, and humility into my own life so I may better serve all creation. My daily gratitude of how, by the grace of God, I have been brought to be in this circle of enlightenment fortifies my purpose. Blessings, Diane

  27. Dr Lo,

I met you in Dallas at the Feb. 09 Conference. My 24 year old grandson has Crohn’s Disease and has been on Remacade since September and has been in the hospital with it five times since then. He just got home today from a two week stay in Methodist Hospital in Houston Medical Center. After numerous tests they found no improvement, in fact he was much worse. The doctor does not wish to do the surgery as it will be complete removable of the colon. They ran more test and discovered that he had developed antibodies to the Remacade and there was no trace of it in his body–they had given him a infusion of double strength two weeks prior to being admitted to the hospital. They have now put him on 6MP and Humara; we are praying that this will work. His doctor has called all over and been told he is doing the right things.

What of our Pharmanex products would help him?

    Thank you.

  28. Hi Barbara,

You can contact me directly if you’d like to set up a specific, personalized coaching session.

In general, the anti-inflammatory effects of the Omega 3’s in Marine Omega from Pharmanex have been very effective in helping people with inflammatory bowel disease (as many as 12-14/day have been beneficial), and also a very simple but specific probiotic strain–Probio PCC from Pharmanex–has also been very helpful.

Keep me posted on how he’s doing!

  29. Hey Ben,
As you well know, I have been in the hospital for three months getting my brain firing an all eight cylinders, instead of five and a half, as a result I have lost routine of making this work towards success. So now starts the process of getting back on track, this is a good time for me, lets get er done. Myron

  30. Welcome back, Myron!

Be sure to give yourself plenty of pure water daily, and “feed your brain” with quality Omega 3’s such as Marine Omega!
